Let's Join Women on the bridge
* Women perform 66% of the world’s work but only earn 10% of the income
* 70% of the world’s poor are women
* 75% of the civilians killed in war are women and children
These figures are truly appalling, and this is why we at Smart Opportunities for Women are supporting our friends at Women for Women International.
To honour the resilience of millions of women survivors of war around the world, Women for Women International in the UK is hosting a global campaign called Join me on the Bridge on International Women's Day: March 8, 2010.
Join Brita Schmidt and other women at 10am on Monday, March 8 at Victoria Embankment Gardens, where they will walk to the Millennium Bridge. There will be a women’s festival along the embankment and, at 12:00, they’ll join together on the Millennium Bridge.
Please note: Brita Fernandez Schmidt is the Director of Operations for Women for Women International in the UK. She was a guest speaker out our recruitment, professional development and networking event which took place in Mayfair last year. She is passionate about the skills development of women, and this passion has taken her on various campaigns to many countries.
