In celebration of womanhood...

Since the 1900's, women all over the world have observed and celebrated women. There has been a significant change and attitudinal shift about women in the workplace. Although things appear better, there is still a lot more to be done. Women are still not paid equally to their male counterparts, women are still underrepresented in certain sectors and in leadership positions and they face violence much more than men. Women make up the higher fraction of educated talent but many companies still fail to promote them in an equal proportion at higher echelons of the organisation. The interesting thing is that women in top positions in the workplace contribute effectively and their employing organisations have a greater return on equity and governance.

The 8th of March every year is a day that has been set aside to inspire women and celebrate women's achievements. In recent years, the tone of the International Women's Day has been deliberately changed from focusing on the negative issues to reflecting and celebrating the positive developments.

Employ A Woman is keen to support companies who wish to celebrate womanhood and achieve specific diversity outcomes. As a result of the IWD celebrations, Employ A Woman is offering discounted prices to exhibitors who book their exhibition space between the 2nd and 10th of March 2009.
